Today's PB4L When we get hurt - Monday 12 December 2016

Welcome
Today's PB4L that we learnt was......   Being Hurt at school
What I learnt:
1. If someone is hurt, go and tell the duty teacher.
2. Don't take the hurt person to the office, with out the teachers permission.
3. If you are playing and you see someone hurt, don't go and crowd them, because if heaps of people are crowding that person who is hurt, then they won't have enough air - Oxygen to breath.
4. So if you see someone hurt and, their are lots of people, crowding that person, you mind your own business, unless they ask you for help.
5. Their is a duty teacher down the field, wearing an Orange jacket, and their is a duty teacher on the, courts wearing an Yellow jacket.
So that was what I learnt on Being Hurt for PB4L.

Hour of CODE!

Welcome
On Wednesday the 7th of December we went over to our buddy class - Rm 2 to, do an hour of code.

What I learnt when we were doing an Hour of Code, is that you really need to be pateint with the little kids.
It was really challenging for me. Me and my buddy got to choose out of the Star wars, Minecraft and Moana, and we choose Moana. Me and my buddy got to choose which charter, and we picked Maui. We had to give Maui specific directions. We also had to lead him to where the Kakamora's was. It was very challenging. the direction we had was moveforward, doge, strike. What I didn't like about coding was that, the directions that they gave was so confusing. And what I iked about coding was that we got to learn how to code!

I've got a question for You, have you ever Code Before??
Also do you know what coding is??
Hope you enjoy!

If you want to learn how to do Shotput, here are my main points that you have to make sure you do.
1. Keep your neck dirty.
2. Keep your fingers dirty.
3. Keep your palms clean.
4. You need to make sure that you are pushing the, ball not throwing the ball.
5. Make sure that the ball is under your neck.
6. Bend knees.
7. You need to make sure that, you can see you wrisk
8. Elbows facing up and straight
9. You also need to make sure that, if you are right handed, that you have to face your whole body to your right handed side

Those were my main point that you, have to do.
Ok now lets move on, to what they mean. What I mean by keeping your neck and, fingers dirty is that the ball must only be touching your, fingers and your neck and thats how it gets dirty, because the balls dirty.
The most thing that you have to make sure, of is that you push the shot put ball. You can't through the shot put ball because, it is very heavy and some people, even break their wrisk because the are, trying to through the shot put ball.

HOPE YOU ENJOY READING, AND I HOPE YOU HAVE LEARNT SOMETHING FROM THIS!

Our Trip to New World

Welcome

Today - 7 November 2016, room 14 went down to New World. We went down their, for food for thought, also we went their to help us learn how to, do label reading. I was very excited. When we got to New World we had to get, in our groups I was in group 1 with Fifita, Hermione, Noah, Seem, Razelle and Logan. Our Parent helper was Wajeeda. We got a worksheet that we had to fill in.

First of we went to the isle, with the cereals which was, isle 6. The most heathiest creal that you should have every day is Wheat Biscuts, it says at the back on the per 100g that it gives you 1460kj energy. Also it has 2.6g of sugar. After when we all finished writing the things that we needed, we move on to the next, item which was, bread. The number isle that we had to go to for the bread was, number 11. Did you know that white bread has alot of sugar in it? So my advice to you, is that if you want to be more healther, then I stugest that you get brown wheatmeal bread. So After that we had to go to the isle with the muesli bars. The muesli bar that I picked was pretty healthey.

Where we went next was to the Milk section. I was very cold and freezing their. I wrote down that light blue milk is good for you. The dark blue milk are better for babies who are 1 or 2. After that we went to where the fruit and veges were and it was so, cool because it was like, their was a, rainbow inside New World. I wrote alot and alot of Fruits and veges their. Their were all kinds of colours of fruit and veges, it was like my eyes were going to explode! WOW

I hope you enjoy reading our great trip to New World!

Did you know fizzy drink had 8 teaspoons of sugar? Well if you didn't it's true!
Diet fizzy has it's own sugar called aspartame. Just like juice. Juice has sugar in it as well. Heaps of people think "oh yeah i'm being healthy because i'm drinking cranberry juice". Here are some tips on being healthy.
Tip 1: Raro juice has 18 teaspoons of SUGAR!
Tip 2: The Raro juice has more teaspoons of sugar then Fizzy drink.
Tip 3: Fizzy drink has 8 big teaspoons of SUGAR!
Tip 4: Did you know that you can't live without water for 3 days.

Basket Ball

BASKET BALL

Hi their, today we had basket ball. We usally have basket ball for our P.E, we always have it on Tuesdays after lunch. It very fun cause we get to do warm up's. The skills that they told us was passing, shooting and dribbling. "No wait I forgot something, ohh yes now I know what the other skill was. It was............
BEEF! Do you know what beef stands for??
Well the B stands for Balance, Balance means that in basket ball you need to balance on your feet so you don't fall over when you are shooting.
Next E, E stands for eyes, your eyes need to be focus on the hoop or on the ball. Also make sure that you can see properly when you shoot.
Thirdly the letter E, E stands for Elbow, elbow means you have to make sure that your elbows are aiming and pointing for the hoop or what you are going to score through.
Lastly the letter F stands for follow, follow means you have to follow the person with the basket ball because sometimes, if the person with the ball try's to bounce it to you the other, team will get it and then your team won't have the ball anymore, so always follow the person with the ball in your team.
So thats what BEEF stands for.
Also I forgot to say that we had lot's of fun shooting the ball in the hoops

Here are some photo's of Room 14 playing Basket ball and having lot's of FUN!!!

I hope you enjoyed.
Thanks

Place Value War!

                                         Place Value War!!!!
Today I am going to show you how to play PLACE VALUE WAR as you know it is a card game so you are going to be needing cards. So first I will tell you what you are going to be needing to play this game.
  1. You are going to be needing 6 or 5 people to play with.
  2. Also you'll need some cards 1 up to 9.

So what you are going to do first is to hand out the cards evenly out to the people who are playing the game and make sure all of you guys have the same amount of cards.

Next you are going to take turns one by one turning your first card over and you going to say for e.g "I got 5 tens" says Asma. Then she is going to flip over her other card and say " I got 4 one's" so that means she's going to say altogether "I got 5 tens, and 4 one and, that make's 54 altogether.

And if the other people in your group get's a lower number for e.g 21 then you get all of the people in your groups two cards that they put down. And I forgot to say to make the game faster maybe when you win and get the people's cards you could put it on the side in a pile and just use the cards that you are still using. So yeah! I hoped you enjoyed learning how to play this game!!

Please comment down below of what you think about this game!!

Room 14's Hearing Session!

Today room 14 went to room 1 to listen to some students from lynnfield collage, they were their to talk to us about Ear hearing and how you can protect your ears also how you can damage your ears. It was pretty fun and cool. You know why it was fun it was because we done experiment's and the experiment was about how you can damage you ears. You can get deaf if you listen to loud stuff for e.g you listen to a lawn mower that means it is very loud and maybe it is over 85 desibles. If you listen to stuff that is over 85 desibles then you may not hear that well.
Here are some photo's.

The photo that the lynnfield girl is holding on the left means you can't  hear very well.
The photo on the right means you can hear just fine and all right.
So yeah I hoped you enjoyed and learned a lot.

Samoan language week!!

                                                  SAMOAN LANGUAGE WEEK!!!!!

On Monday room 14 went to the hall for a taste of SAMOA! I felt so excited, we had to get in to 5 groups of 4 then we got to go to the stations of  of Samoa. The people that was in my group was Fifita, Sifa, Asif and Zavier. The station that my group went to was the cup of Koko. I was so excited to taste the drink that they made.I felt a little bit nervous about tasting their drink I've never tasted their type of koko before. The people that was at the cup of koko station was Mamere and Sili , they helped my group make the cup of koko. After we made the cup of koko we got to taste it.Time for taste test I got really excited in the same time I was really nervous. It smelled and tasted like I was in hot chocolate land, the rivers were mad out of melted chocolate and the grass was hard chocolate I just felt so relaxed in my day dream, but we had to move on to the next station we the rang the bell.

Yaaaaay!! Time to see Samoans type of jewellery. It looks AMAZING! Like I've never seen it before. The children that was at the jewellery station was Harriet and Sharona. We learnt that Samoan jewellery is made out of coconut and their bags are made out of flaxes.Next station

The children that was at that station was Jerome and sudanie. They were very helpful as you can see sudanie is showing us some of their bags from Samoa. They said that the bags were made out of flax's. I never knew that they were made out of flax's. Also Sudanie told me that they use coconuts to drink through. First they eat the coconut inside then they clean it then after that I think the carve it and make it shiny on the outside. It's very cool.
I really had fun at the taste of Samoa I have learned a lot of new stuff about Samoa. I just really want to thank you all of the Samoans at May Road School who sorted these stations out also to all of the parents and teachers who helped the children, and also sorted this whole Samoan language week!!
I have had a wonderful week with all you Samoans!!
